Tamworth Football Club has been bought by a 24-year-old US property investor, Abdullah Ashraf. The club has been in the National League for many years, and Ashraf aims to take it into the Football League. He is a keen football fan and has previously founded a club in his home state of Oklahoma. Despite living in America, Ashraf has promised to be an active and involved chairman. He praised the previous owners, Bob Andrews and Steve Lathbury, for their achievements, including back-to-back promotions and a successful FA Cup run. The new ownership is expected to bring new energy and investment to the club.
