Tamworth delivered a dominant performance to beat Scunthorpe 4-1 in the National League on Tuesday night. The victory moves them up to 20th in the table on 14 points, providing a significant boost ahead of their next home fixture. They have now taken 14 points from 13 games, with a record of four wins, two draws and seven losses, and have scored 21 goals while conceding 30 this season.

Roberts opened the scoring after just four minutes, finishing a move created by Donnelly. Donnelly then turned scorer ten minutes later, finding the net with an assist from Kurtaran. The first-half dominance was capped off by McGlinchey, who made it 3-0 just before the break after being set up by Roberts.

Scunthorpe pulled a goal back through Beestin in first-half stoppage time, but Tamworth controlled the second period. Substitute Creaney completed the scoring in the 93rd minute, converting a pass from McGlinchey to seal a comprehensive 4-1 result. This win follows a 2-1 defeat away to Carlisle on Saturday 17 October and a 1-2 home loss to Barrow on Saturday 10 October.

Team changes and cards

Both managers utilised their benches, with Tamworth making four changes in the second half. Carter was shown a yellow card in the 32nd minute for the hosts. Their recent form over the last five games stands at three wins and two losses.

The result leaves Tamworth with a record of four wins, two draws and seven losses from 13 games. They now prepare to host Woking at The Lamb Ground this Saturday, 31 October. Woking currently sit 13th, setting up an important clash as Tamworth look to build on this momentum. The team remains 24 points behind league leaders Boreham Wood in the title race.
