Tamworth's four-match unbeaten run came to an end as York City edged out a 1-0 victory at the Lamb Ground. York moved one step closer to a return to the Football League for the first time in a decade. The Minstermen threatened early when Mark Kitching was denied by Jas Singh, but the Tamworth goalkeeper was beaten in the 27th minute when Ollie Pearce prodded home a loose ball in the area. Either side of half-time, Malachi Fagan-Walcott kept York ahead with a terrific goal-line block before City keeper Harrison Male produced an excellent save after Teo Kurtaran was played through one-on-one. Jeff King thumped against the bar for the visitors, but while York failed to give themselves a cushion, they held on to end Tamworth's four-match unbeaten run.
