Tamworth secured their first home win over Sutton United in five attempts with a 2-0 victory at The Lamb Ground on Wednesday night. The result lifts the club to 20th in the National League, providing a key boost after a heavy defeat just days earlier.

Keiran Donnelly opened the scoring two minutes after the restart, netting his sixth league goal of the season. The lead was doubled five minutes later when Sutton defender Emmanuel Osadebe headed a Teo Kurturan corner into his own net. Those two goals in a frantic seven-minute spell decided the contest.

Sutton United failed to force a single save from Tamworth goalkeeper Rhys Lovett all evening. The visitors' evening was further disrupted when Charlie Carter limped out of the pre-match warm-up. Both managers made tactical changes at half-time, with Jake Taylor and Tom Parkes substituted for the visitors and Jaden Cullinane-Liburd coming on for the hosts.

The win ends a five-match winless run against Sutton and improves Tamworth's recent form to two wins in their last five outings. They now have 11 points from 11 games, sitting 18 points behind league leaders Boreham Wood.

Tamworth's next match is away to Hartlepool United this Saturday.
