Tamworth prepare to host Sutton United in a National League clash on Wednesday evening with their recent form and head-to-head history in focus. The Lambs sit 22nd in the table with eight points from ten games and have lost four of their last five matches, including a heavy 5-1 defeat at Aldershot Town last Saturday.
Kieron Donnelly, who has scored five of Tamworth's 17 league goals this season, is expected to be a key figure. The last time these sides met in January, a late substitute changed the game. "Rodari, who had only been brought on as a substitute five minutes earlier, produced a neat near post finish to convert Lewis Simper’s low cross," the match report noted, securing Sutton's first ever league win against Tamworth.
That result levelled the recent head-to-head record, with two wins each and a draw from the last five meetings. Sutton are unbeaten in their two previous visits to The Lamb Ground, though they have never scored more than one goal there. Midfielder Teo Kurtaran, 24, has made five appearances for Tamworth this term.
Kwaku Donkor, who joined Sutton on a permanent deal from Tamworth in January, could feature against his former club. Sutton United, currently 10th, have accumulated 15 points from their opening ten fixtures. Tamworth's next fixture is this home match against Sutton United on 30 September, kicking off at 7:45pm and broadcast on National League TV.
